What we’ve been up to in 2019
Can you believe that 2019 is nearly over? We’ve had a super busy year at Mack Hair and Beauty, and it’s all down to you and our brilliant team. Here’s a quick recap on 12 unforgettable months.
Promotions
Starting the year off with bang, Jasmine and Olivia were both promoted back in January. These girls show a real commitment to their clients, ongoing education and the whole Mack team, so their promotions are very well deserved. Jasmine is now a style director and Olivia is a senior stylist (and they’re both smashing it!)
Graduations
Lauren completed her apprenticeship in April and is now a graduate stylist, already building a loyal following. Lauren is amazing with colour work and it’s been great to see her flourish.
Vegas baby!
We were very lucky to attend the Redken Symposium 2019 over in the fabulous Las Vegas. We joined an impressive list of guest artists and salon experts from around the world, for a holiday full of seminars, learning and of course a flutter or two.
Ten-year celebrations
We had two girls celebrating their ten-year Mackversaries this year. Senior stylist Demi joined us as a fresh-faced sixteen-year-old and has provided us with help, support and lots of laughter along the way. And style director Kayleigh has spent the past ten years delivering outstanding work for her clients and the team – proving nothing is too much trouble for this girl.
Planet power
We went green! This year we adopted a more ethical way of working. This includes recycling all of our packaging, waste, hair foil and hair clippings, offering vegan hair colours and products, using paper bags and removing all plastic cups and straws.
Pride of Rugby and Muddy Stilettos
We were super excited to be shortlisted for the 2019 Pride of Rugby and Muddy Stilettos awards. Competing in the categories of Hairdressers and Business of the Year, we, unfortunately, didn’t win, but getting to the finals was enough for us.
Welcomes
We said hello to some new faces this year as we expanded team Mack, including Megan on front of house. We also had another big welcome this year – baby Bella. Jess and Tom gave birth to a beautiful baby girl back in June and we’re still cooing over our cuddles with her.
Expansions
In August we took on an exciting new space and expanded the salon, including a brand new colour room. We also introduced some stunning new products into the salon this year. We’re now stockists of the Davine Oi, Love/Curl and Alchemic Creative ranges, as well as the Redken Nature + Science collection
Wearing it pink
On 18th October we wore pink in support of Breast Cancer Now’s Wear it Pink Day. In the process, we raised £132.60 and sampled some of the finest cakes.
Wedding bells
And finally, our one and only Michelle only went and got married. In a beautiful ceremony, on a stunning day, Michelle and Bradley tied the knot.
The perfect end, to a perfect year.
